Peter Smales
Branch Manager – LAC Partner Performance, Local Area Coordinator (LAC) & Partner Performance

As the Branch Manager of the newly formed NDIS Partner Performance Team, Peter currently oversees the day to day performance and relationship management with all of the Agency’s Local Area Co-ordinators and Early Childhood Early Intervention Partners across the nation. Prior to this, as Regional Manager Queensland South, Peter had the accountability for all facets of the program in his region that were responsible for transitioning participants into the scheme. Peter has now been working with the Agency for more than two years but came to the scheme with a long history in human services leadership and management and particularly working in disability services administration. Prior to working with the NDIA, Peter held in a variety of roles with the Queensland Government across a 30 year career.

Most recently he was Regional Director in the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability for 11 and a half years in central Queensland.

Peter also worked as Regional Director – Probation and Parole and at the Department of Corrective Services

Peter holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Queensland.
